Family Portrait Photography
Life is one big balancing act, with school runs and after school clubs, cooking, working, cleaning, it's not easy. But it's worth it, because the people we call family make it so... I know I would be absolutely lost without mine. I think as you get a little older you realise how quickly time just flies by, and how things can change so much in the blink of an eye.
I guess that's why family photography means so much to me, because in a way you're freezing time for just a second. Capturing that look between two bothers, or a laugh between grandma and granddaughter. Photographs to me, are so important because they are your family's memories. It's so much more than just taking a snap shot for me. I want to see who you are, and capture your personality. The bond between father and son and those in-between moments where you are just being your authentic selves.
I am a family photographer in West Sussex, and I would love to see you in my little garden studio, which is situated just off the main London Rd in East Grinstead. We're right on the borders of Surrey, Kent and East Sussex, so we aren't too far from Crawley, Redhill, Tunbridge Wells or Haywards Heath.
What to expect from a Family Photography Session
Before The Shoot
Before you come along to your family photoshoot at my East Grinstead studio, we will have a little chat about what it is you are looking for. Did you want a simple white back drop, or a more fine art styled family portrait?
We will discuss any particular ideas you might have, colour schemes, and outfit choices.
If you have any concerns, or are worried about posing or how you will look in the images, please let me know. I will do all I can to make you feel comfortable because I want you to love the photos!
During The Shoot
When you arrive at the studio, the first thing I'll do is stick the kettle on. If you have children then it's always nice to give them a little time to settle in to the studio.
If kids are a little shy, I will spend some time on their level. So please don't judge me if you find me making all sorts or strange animal noises and being silly. It's really important to me that everyone is happy and comfortable.
Once everyone is ready, I will begin posing you, and taking photos of your family. I will be asking all sorts of questions, and trying to capture those in-between moments where you are goofing around, laughing or just remembering a sweet story that you are telling me about.
After The Shoot
After your family photography session,I will go and start hand editing your images.
You will hear from me within two to three weeks to arrange a gallery viewing of your images. This is where I will invite you back to the studio to show you your finished family portraits.
You will then choose which images you like. When you have decided you can then purchase the digital image package that best suits your requirements.
If it is easier, I do also offer online gallery viewings. I know how busy it can be sometimes.
I do also provide prints and have some beautiful artwork available to really showcase your photographs in your home. You can see the quality of the artwork when you come to the studio.

Our prices and packages
Personally, when I'm investing in something, I like to see exactly what I'm going to be getting for my money. With that in mind, the only thing you pay for upfront, is the session fee.
The session fee includes everything listed below, secures your session, and ensures I don't take another booking that day so it's non-refundable.

Family Digital Image Packages
As mentioned earlier, the only thing you have to pay for up front is the session fee for your family photography session. You don't actually pay for any images until you have seen them and know that you really like them!
After our photoshoot you will be invited back to the studio to view your gallery. If your schedule is busy and you would rather view your gallery at home, this can be arranged. In the gallery viewing you will be able to choose your favorites and select a digital image package that suits you.
I do provide prints and have some beautiful artwork on display in the studio. You can see and feel the quality of any products for yourself, should you wish to order them.

After your family photoshoot, you will have the option to purchase a digital image package or wall art should you wish. I have a selection of samples in my East Grinstead studio so you can check the professional quality of the artwork that I offer.
All my artwork and prints are ordered from an award winning printing lab for professional photographers. Not only have I chosen this lab for the great quality products they offer, but for every order I place with them they will commit to planting a tree to help replace the wood and energy used in construction of that product! So many of us are looking for ways to make our daily life more earth-friendly and so I wanted to offer a product that was not only beautiful but sustainable too.
I offer digital packages as well as prints, and a beautiful memory keep sake box which I think makes a lovely alternative to a photo album.
