Life is one big balancing act, isn’t it? Between school runs, after-school clubs, cooking, working, and cleaning, it's a wonder we don’t all have capes. But it’s worth every bit of the chaos because the people we call family make it so. Honestly, I’d be utterly lost without mine. As we get a bit older, we start to realise just how quickly time flies and how much things can change in the blink of an eye.
That’s why family photography means the world to me. It’s like hitting the pause button on life for just a second. Capturing that mischievous grin between two brothers or the shared giggle between grandma and granddaughter—those moments are pure gold. Photographs aren’t just snapshots; they’re your family’s memories, frozen in time. When I take a photo, I want to see who you truly are, to capture your personality.
The bond between father and son, and those in-between moments where you’re just being your authentic selves, are what make each session magical.
I’m a family photographer based in West Sussex, and I’d love to welcome you to my little garden studio. It’s tucked away just off the main London Road in East Grinstead. We’re right on the borders of Surrey, Kent, and East Sussex, so we’re not too far from Crawley, Redhill, Tunbridge Wells, or Haywards Heath.
what to expect from a family photography session
Before Your family photoshoot
Before you come along to your family photoshoot at my East Grinstead studio, we will have a little chat about what it is you are looking for. Did you want a simple white back drop, or a more fine art styled family portrait?We will discuss any particular ideas you might have, colour schemes, and outfit choices.If you have any concerns, or are worried about posing or how you will look in the images, please let me know. I will do all I can to make you feel comfortable because I want you to love the photos!
During The Photoshoot
When you arrive at the studio, the first thing I'll do is stick the kettle on. If you have children then it's always nice to give them a little time to settle in to the studio.
If kids are a little shy, I will spend some time on their level being silly and trying to coax them out of their shell. It's really important to me that everyone is happy and comfortable.
Once everyone is ready, I will begin posing you, and taking photos of your family. I will be asking all sorts of questions, and trying to capture those in-between moments where you are goofing around, laughing or just remembering a sweet story that you are telling me about.
After Your family photo session
After your family photography session, I'll get to work hand editing your images.
Within two to three weeks, I'll reach out to arrange a viewing. You can either come back to the studio or enjoy a private online gallery at home.
Depending on your package, you'll have a set number of images included. Just let me know which ones you love the most. You can also upgrade your package or purchase additional images if you'd like more options.
