Fun, relaxed sessions in East Grinstead
All dogs are different. Some are shy, or cautious rescues. Some — like my bulldog Molly — are really bloody stubborn. And some are just absolute loons.
That’s exactly what I love.
I’ve had dogs all my adult life, so I’m pretty good at reading how they’re feeling and working with them, not against them.
We use a mix of things to get the best out of them — treats, toys, peanut butter, even dog-friendly bacon or chicken flavoured bubbles.
That’s how you get the good stuff — tongues out, mid-air treat catches, proper personality.
Not just your bog-standard “sit still and stay” photos.
More than just photos on your phone
Not just something you scroll past and forget
You’ve probably already got hundreds of photos of your dog on your phone. I know I do of Molly.
But the ones I actually love are the proper ones, the ones that show her personality, the little expressions, the way she looks at me. Not just what she looks like, but what she’s like.
I love capturing the bond between you and your dog too. Because they’re part of everything, aren’t they. To us they are part of our world but to them... we are their world.
This is about having something more than a quick snap — something you’d actually print, frame, and keep.
I photograph dogs from my East Grinstead studio, welcoming clients from across West Sussex and surrounding areas.
More than just “sit and stay”
Treat catches, expressions, and proper personality
Every dog is different — this is just a glimpse of what we can get.
What we’ll do during your session:
We always start with treat shots.
Some dogs can catch straight away, some take a bit of practice… some just eat them off the floor. All part of it.
We work around your dog — what they like, what gets their attention.
Some love the treats, some aren’t fussed at all. That’s where the peanut butter comes in (on a very long spoon) for those tongue-out shots.
Then we’ll bring in the bubbles — steak, chicken, bacon flavoured. Some go mad for them, some couldn’t care less.
Every dog’s different.
We’ll always make time for photos with you too — whether that’s with the kids or just you and your dog.
And fair warning… I do get a bit carried away.
Treat shots are all about timing, so we might repeat things a few times — but the dogs love it. They’re getting treats and all the attention, so no complaints from them.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR dog photoshoot
A bit of chaos, a lot of personality.
Before Your Session
Sessions take place at my home studio in East Grinstead, welcoming dogs from across West Sussex and surrounding areas.
Just bring your dog and maybe their favourite toy — I’ve got the treats covered.
No stress if they’re nervous or overexcited. We just go at their pace and see what they’re like.

During Your Session
Sessions take about an hour and are usually spot on for one or two dogs. If you’ve got more, just let me know and we can have a chat.
Some come in like they own the place, some hang back a bit at first. I let them have a sniff round, and get familiar with the equipment.
The focus is those action shots — dogs catching treats mid-air, proper expressions, all the good stuff.

After Your Session
You’ll come back to the studio to see your photos.
I’ll show you the different options — digital packages and wall art — so you can see what’s what and decide what you want.
No pressure, just pick the ones you love.
Then you leave with photos that actually feel like your dog.

i don't expect perfect behaviour
And I don't need it either.
Not every dog is calm. Not every dog listens.
That’s normal.
I read what they’re like and adjust as we go — some need a minute, some don’t stop moving, some sit there like they’ve done it a hundred times.
Nothing is forced.
We just work with what they give me.
That’s how you get photos that actually feel like them.

KIND WORDS
Hazel was fabulous when photographing Bella. She was fun, engaging and managed to keep our dog entertained for the whole shoot. She captured Bella’s character perfectly! Would absolutely recommend her!
Charlie, East Grinstead
can't express how happy I am with the pictures and service. Hazel accommodated my old and (mostly) blind dog and captured his personality perfectly. We got a lovely variety of images with different props and bubbles etc which Floyd loved, he didn't want to leave ❤️
We will be back for more photos at a later date 🐾

Hi, I’m Hazel
Dog photographer based in East Grinstead, West Sussex
Those of you who know me already know how much I love dogs — especially my bulldog Molly, who is basically my daughter.
I fell in love with capturing silly photos of her, all her little expressions, and those moments you’d usually miss.
I especially love photographing dogs catching treats — the expressions are everything.
Capturing their personality makes me so happy — it’s always the bit people end up loving most.
